Hey friends! We’re back on the east coast and back to real life! It’s always fun to leave reality for a while, but it sure is good to get back into the routine and be home again.
I planned on blogging once we got to California but honestly, we were just too busy. I didn’t even break out my lap top once while we were there. Sometimes you just got to unplug for a while. Am I right?
The trip and the wedding were a huge success! My third trip to California was just as memorable and amazing as the first two. Marcus and I were super excited and amped to land in LAX. I kept my eyes peeled for celebs, but unfortunately didn’t see any.
Once we got our luggage we took a pre-booked shuttle to the resort which was about 30 miles away. To anyone who doesn’t want to go through the hassle of renting a car and driving in an unfamiliar place, I totally recommend booking a shuttle. It was only $31 each way. It took a little extra time because we had to drop off other passengers, but we didn’t mind because we got to see more of the city.
After a loooong ride in the infamous LA traffic, we arrived at the resort. This was our amazing view.
Call me dumb, but I didn’t realize how mountainous the LA area was. We drove to LA from San Diego a few years ago. I guess I totally missed the mountains. Then again we spent most of our time in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica…so the area was a little different. Regardless, the mountains were amazing.
We spent a majority of our time with Marcus’ friends from college. They came all the way from Nicaragua for the wedding. On the big day, Marcus and his friend woke up to hit some balls at the driving range. I went to the gym. We saw the groom and talked to him for a few minutes, went to lunch, then finally got ready for the wedding.
The wedding gazebo was situated near the golf course with the mountains in the background. It was a warm and sunny day with bright blue, clear skies. It was the perfect day for an outdoor ceremony.
The ceremony itself was beautiful. The bride and groom both looked amazing. Their love for each other really showed throughout the ceremony. I shed a few tears and realllly wanted to get married after seeing them together.
After the ceremony was an outdoor cocktail hour. More awesome views, an open bar and Chinese hors d’oeuvres. It was great!
After the cocktail hour, was the reception inside the resort. The reception was unlike anything else I have ever seen. There was entertainment, music, singing, dancing, slide shows, speeches….the list goes on. The reception was truly spectacular – beautiful decorations, a photo booth, amazing food.
We danced the night away and had a wonderful time.
It was a fabulous wedding and we are SO happy for the bride and groom. I am so glad that we were able to share their day with them, and know they will have a great life together.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Day two of our Cali trip is to come! Have a fab one! 🙂
